My Fitness level: Not great, but not bad- Moderate
Overall experience: Worth it ★★★★
Hiking Duration: 4-6 hours
I was skimming through Instagram one day, and saw that a cousin posted a breathtaking view in Bali. As I already had plans to go to Bali, I thought- YES, definitely going there for a photo! ….Yet did I know, Mount Batur Volcano was going to be a slipping, stumbling, painful journey to the most beautiful sun rise I have ever seen!
The low down: I freaked out at least 3-4 times while walking up and even had thoughts of going back down.
Things to make sure to prepare before hand:
- Get a Balinese guide
- A torch
- A stick if you’re fitness level is moderate
- Hiking or sports shoe: Wear proper shoes!!!
- A back pack or waist bag, depending on what your comfortable with
